Where to find out error code meanings

I received an error code print out (along with scribbled out line) from a BMW indy last week. Is there a specific website you can go to find out more information about the errors?

Either search on the forum or google for the code.

Maybe get yourself a cheap code reader and check the car monthly for any codes.

The garage should really have cleared any codes and then read them again after a test drive in case there's old historic codes.

I check mine and a mates Z4 monthly using Carly.
