Where to Buy BMW Soft Top Cleaner/Kit?

Hi Guys,

Loads of discussions on here about which soft top cleaner to use. I've decided to go for the BMW one that a few of you have mentioned. A couple have mentioned a BMW Z4 car cleaning kit...where can I buy this from? Quick browse on the BMW website didn't have any specific soft top cleaning products for the Z4. Am I missing something?

I have the turtle wax/shampoo (etc etc) kit for general washes but need a hood cleaner/protector as well as one of those brushes and sticky roller thingy's to help remove dirt/grime. Do they all come in the BMW kit? Any ideas where to buy online? Thanks in advance guys

You can get this from your local dealer.

I bought the protecting solution last week for just under £17 (inc 10% discount).

The cleaning kit was a lot more money, cant rembmer if it was around £45 or £60 but it includes shampoo, interior cleaners etc, none of which I require.

You will find most people here including me normally use raggtopp, which is an aerosol, but as it was so cold when I needed to apply I had to use another option and the BMW one seemed to be the next best option, which is mixed with water an applied with a sponge.

Thanks for your reply. Guess I'll have to go into my local dealer then.

So can't you apply Raggtopp when its too cold?? I'm guessing there is a difference between a cleaner and protector - do BMW have both? Is Raggtopp better (and do they have both)??

Cant say which is better but Raggtopp is an aerosol for the protecting agent, and as a result I dont think will work in low temperatures, where as the BMW is like water so will soak in easily.

I will go back to the Raggtopp next time, it's easy to use providing you have a garage otherwise wind is a problem again with the aerosol.

The prices are similar, and in conclusion I would say if you cannot apply in a wind free enviroment then maybe best to go for the BMW one, otherwise most losts of members swear by Raggtopp.

The full Z4 cleaning kit is £50 from your local dealer :)

The interior plastics cleaner works really well with the Zs textured dash.

On a separate note, I'm considering getting a soft top cover for these winter months. Any ideas on good covers just for the soft top? Anyone have one? Where did you get it from??? Cheers

The post is very old and probably not for sale anymore. Anyone else know where I can get a cover purely just for the soft top? Dont mind leaving the rest of the car uncovered

One bmw dealer says they only do full covers and another says they do (about £70-£80 i think!). Quite pricey, i'm suprised no one else on the web does custom covers just for the soft top on the Z4...unless I'm missing something?? :tumbleweed:

I think its £75 for the part cover, I have the accessories brochure somewhere.

I've not seen anyother covers anywhere. I don't think £75 is too bad. Have you had a look on the BMW website? They have Z4 accessories on there :)

Yeah they dont specifically have the half cover on their website. How is it fitted to the car? Hopefully not easily nick-able!!! Mainly want to protect the hood from the elements (including bird crap and tree sap etc).

Was going to purchase the BMW soft top cleaning agent as well but a lot of people are telling me to go with Raggtop. No idea where to get that cheap though? Sorry, sounding like a right ol' newbie eh!!!

If I get time I will take a pic of the accessories brochure for you. I think from memory it covers the window, roof, and goes over the mirrors. If you go into a dealer you can get the accessories brochure for free.

I checked their online brochure and its there! Sorry about that mate..its about £64 plus VAT

Only question now is Raggtop of BMW top cleaner!

If you do get that cover let me know how you get on because I've been thinking about it :)

If your going to BMW to get the cover then you might as well get the cleaning set as well
