Where the Zed money went...

Well, I sold my beloved Zed at the back end of last year and spent the money on my 1978 VW campervan that had been waiting patiently for some attention. So, after taking it to a respected restorer for a total strip out, bare metal media blasting, four coats of 2pac paint in the original Tiagagrun green and a month long refit including new rubbers, door seals and every necessary part replaced with VW originals or best quality repro's. Then, a bespoke interior including two tone german vynyl uphostery and walnut furniture, hidden hob and sink by Smev..... here he is

By the width of those rear tyres, I assume you didn't go for the full Porsche conversion :P

That's an amazing transformation you've made there!
I can only admire the skills it would take to build that. I'd be settled by letting you mod my car ;)

Nope, 34 years old and 43000 miles, original engine, just had it to a specialist rolling road fella. Set up the twin choke carbs and got it near to its original BHP.......of 90!

Sweet!! Think I'd have preferred a new engine, something efficient but must be great to be able to spec it out. Hope you got a nice sub in there!

Can buy a complete turnkey engine for about 2k but the original works well, no oil leaks and I like the idea that its older than me :)

Campervans are great fun - we've got Type 3 T25 - a mere 23 years old !
Had it over 5 years and spent very little on it in that time - probably worth more now than we originally paid for it. Here it is with my Zed ( and my mate's MX5 )

There's not enough pictures :-(

Here you go

As it arrived from Texas, it sat there like that for a long time

interior in, still waiting for the cupboards to go above the windows then it will be finished. The curtains are at the 'try in' stage and there are a few other bits coming from Holland to make it perfect.
