Where Should Bits go in the boot?

Hi All

Am trying to tidy my boot up so i don't have things rolling around when driving.

1. Where is the foam tool holder (circled red) supposed to live? Tried jamming it in the whole behind the battery (where the jack currently is) but didnt want to fit.

2. Where should the jack officially be stored? It just about fits where it currently is, but its more shoved in there than stored neatly.

3. What is the thing i've circled in green. Is that the ECU?

Any pics of what your boots look like would be great!

Cheers

Dan

There is no official jack place.. it has RFT tyres from stock.. so no need for a jack if there is no spare wheel!

No idea what the other things are! Mine doesnt have them.

The jack and wheel chock aren't standard equipment on the E85/86 so they don't have a tailor-made niche in the boot

The green things is like a power distribution block I think, the cables are very thick and just seem to go in and come out, I had a look in mine last week.

Good point. The previous owner must have put them in since he changed to non RF tyres.

However, seems a little pointless in my carrying it around in the boot if I don't have a spare wheel to change to anyway.

I do have a can of the foam tyre stuff, i've never used it before. Does anyone know if you have to jack the car up in order to use it when you have a flat? Or can the car be on the ground?

Also, where do you guys keep your Locking Wheel nut then? In the handbook case?

Cheers

Ah right, was just curious. Wasn't sure if it was an aftermarket device or standard on the Z's. Cheers

On the ground but you will need a small air compressor which you can put in the space where your jack is.

My locking nut is in a small fabric case with a screwdriver and towing eye which I keep in the same space.

I have a OEM bag that lives above the battery, in the boot and contains the locking nut, towing eye and a few tools. There is also a small compressor stored there, on the M, I seem to recall. Must check that one.
