where could my clips have gone...

hi guys, i hit a pot hole last week which knocked a screw loose in my boot, the trim and a few others bits have since come loose. ordered a complete set of new screws, trim clips etc etc so all can be replaced and back good as new once they have been delivered from bmminiparts

BUT i can only find 2 clips now ive removed my boot tray, i could only order 1 more from bmminiparts as thats all they had in stock, the website says i need 4 of these but i can see 6 spaces i could fit these so how many do i need, and where have the missing 2/4 gone? ive reached as far down each side as i can reach (i think) so is there any places they could have gone/fallen into?


these are the clips im talking about (ignore the pieve on the left, thats the brake light cover screw and ive ordered a new 1)

Is it possible they could fall down the drains either side?

When I renewed my rear strut top mounts there were only 4 clips holding the shelf. I also remember reading one or two other posts where owners reported only 4 in use. Not sure if its correct on early cars only but 4 seem to hold the shelf in place very securely.

that would make sense with bmminiparts saying 4 (when there is space for 6) required then lol, altho even with the new 1 purchased from them (leaving them with no stock left) makes it 3 so i need to source at least another 1

while you were doing your rear strut top mounts did you notice anywhere that these could have fallen into if they came out like mine have? i dont really want to start stripping and removing all trim to try and find them if the likelihood is that they have fallen out the drain holes or something and gone forever (altho they wont fit through there)
