hi everybody, anyone out there know where i can get one of these,
Z4UltimateArmrest_zps974a8186.jpg

it took me ages to find out what the hole behind yur elbow in the centre console was called !! apparently an 'oddments box ', with a LID, who sells the lid , i think it looks good.
arm rest looks good too. ta

Yeah, isn't that how it looks when you have BMW assist, and the lid is to stop you hitting the button by accident ?

I don't think the box with lid is a leatherz product - I honestly think it is integrated with BMW Assist, and you'd need to speak to a dealer...

The leathers is way too big for my likening, that picture seems to be a bit more civilised in size.

AFAIK it was only available on the US models as they had a much more comprehensive BMW Assist function.

Our 'Assist' is accessed through the telephone and/or menu functions.

Mine apparently has Assist (Can See it on the Nav Screen) and my hole at the back is empty. I just stick my iPhone in it!

As above its a USA thing, adds the the drama like firing a rocket.

Lift flap, press button, SOS called.

thanks , i looked at this site sometime ago, but i still cant find it listed in their category section, judging by all the comments, it looks like you cant just buy the lid to what i thought was a hole to put coins or phone in etc , all i wanted to finish off the centre console nicely instead of a gaping hole.

I believe the correct use is for holding your Tic-Tacs.

If you simply want the lid covering the pocket, not the call buttons, you need a different bezel on which the lid hinges. This bezel has no bottom, so you would have to cut the bezel off your current pocket and somehow attach it to the one with the hinge.

I have the emergency call option in my car. TBH, the lid is a cheap flimsy thing and not worth any kind of trouble to install. Give up on the idea.
