Where can i get front clear xenon headlights from?

Has anyone had any luck with these guys, i emailed them again... the amber headlights are really annoying me now, they ruin the car...

No response from two emails I've sent them. Guess they're either not interested, not answering their emails, or no longer in business. I've not done further chasing as I'm sinking all my £££ into my van at the moment and could do without splashing out on lights for the Z4, as much as I want to...

If you have any success let me know.

This was the thread I was looking for.

A11y - looks like the Van has more of the budget:

Hello Dave,

The only way we can do for the amber signal strip for the previous model is
to smoke the strip. We do not have replacement for the it.

Which looks pretty good, I have a few customers did it for their car.

Here is the turn out, attached a few pictures

Our pricing has changed a little bit.

Here is our current pricing

Angel eyes + labor - $299.95 (available color:
Blue, White, Yellow)

Paint housing in Matt black -$FREE (OPTIONAL)

Smoking the amber strip -$75 (OPTIONAL)

Shipping cost - Depend on location

We have 1 yr limited warranty on parts and labor, which includes all the
water leakage or fog up, we'll repair and ship it back to you for free
(customer pays for their own shipping cost when shipping the headlights back
to us). We also cover all the defected parts on the rings and ballasts.
The entire project takes about 2 to 3 days to complete.

Let me know if you have further questions.

Thank you.

Eric

thats exactly what im doing at the moment - bought some good smoke tint from laminx http://www.lamin-x.co.uk/

judging by the pictures they are cutting open the lights and re sealing, interesting as i did dissect one but it was hard to see a way to rebuild it so it was solid and watertight.

edit - saying thats looking at the pictures i have a plan - off to the garage to have a play

mmmm, not sure I like that enough to spend $375+ on it - there's still orange showing through. I know the best part of that money is on the angel eyes, but it still seems very expensive for what it is. Think I'll pass.

(cheers for posting that up Dave - and yes, the van is costing a bloody fortune but it'll be sooooo worth it).

Hi Guys i got a reply back and they would be prepared to do them.

They way they do it is similar to cut and shut method and they will take the clear reflector from a set of facelifted donar lights then transfer and seal all up again.

I think the price is reasonable but just reluctant to ship my xenons headlights plus 2 donor headlights to the states, think someone should open up a european branch...

For the transfer only its $200 and then $70 extra if you want the angel lights plus shipping both ways.

Looking at the smoke ones they also look good...

TBH if I could get my hands on a donor set I'd be doing the cutting, etc myself just like what cj10jeeper and others have done. Sod paying $200++++ for a task that is appears to be relatively straight-forward if you have the tools and take your time!

Wow - if you guys are prepared to accept the 'cut and shut method then there is no need to spend that sort of money. I could run a serious weekend business at that rate :)

I reckon 30 minutes to chop a light open. Interesting as they always said they opened the lights and I havn't researched it lately but implied they melted the adhesive.

So unless I misread it's around $375 to fit AE and smoke, so add $150 (ship out and return shipping back in), assume somehow no import duties. Then around the £360 mark.

Seems a lot to me when you can get a 4 transformer 6 AE kit (2 spare transformers and 2 spare rings) for around £50 from Ozmium.

And you will get stung by customs, and even worse - if you have any issue and need to return again you get stung for duty - again ...

Yep - I sort of hedged arond that as you can import and export and reclaim VAT charged, but it's a real paper chase to do.

I was holding off this mod as I thought Tekcarbon could do it without the added expense of a set of donor clear lights.

Can't put off any longer though - going to have to start sourcing the bits so they are all ready for when I get round to doing it.

I'm going to have to buy a second set of pre-facelift Xenon backs though as would much prefer to take my time with the project and then do a straight swap. Drive the car every day so can't be doing without headlights!

That's what I did dave... makes the project much less scary too. I'm planning on converting my original headlights too at some point.

If you're serious, I'd pay upfront to convert from Xenon/Silver Inners/Tango > Xenon/Black Inners with AE/Clear. Name your price? :)

Unfortunately my laziness is matched only by my lack of both tools and talent...
