Lads, its sad I know  but (despite all the dirt) I noticed the plate was white, had the EU symbol on the left, and has small writing (county name) at the top of the plate. All legal requirements in Ireland.

Hi Roywhlong,
Originally from Galway, but I am actually based & work in West Dublin. Let me know (via PM) if you are ever in or around Dublin, we could meet up. Wouldn’t mind hearing those Eisenmann Exhausts to be honest.

Also, those black wheels also look fantastic...

(Matt)

Hey Matt,

Yah i am up on Dublin alot too maybe we should meet up just PM me.

Personally i love the sound off the exhaust but i do have few issue with the fitting and the bracket on the right hand side actually broken on one stage but eisenmann replace them with no problem.

Those wheel are brand new only got them last week ( it had been through 3 sets of wheel seen i had the car ), I think it really make the car look so mean 8) ( that's my opinion ) but i having a rubbing issue on the front driver side, I think I need to rise the coilover abit higher hopefully it will sort the problem :headbang:

hey guys, fitting my badges to the front and rear today. i tried to fit the front but it doesnt seem to sit flush like the oem one, probably caused by the lump on the bumper under the badge.

did any of you guys that have them have this and how did you deal with it?

They never do as those from aftermarket are a slightly larger size. You need to dremmel the rear shoulders off slightly on each side (think of it as somewhere between the 2 & 4 and 8 & 10 on a clock) and it will sink in. No need to touch the metal of the bonnet at all.

Somewhere a year or so back someone posted and illustration of the area to trim

I know I'm dragging this thread up but wanted to add a picture of the blue carbon badges I got from Ian, might be usefull for anyone who can't decide between blue/grey (took me a while)!

Reviving this thread but finally got mine fitted - I've had them before i even collected my car!

I got mine from a different eBay seller in HK - cost £50 for all 9 badges, and took a week to arrive:

Got to use my Aldi dremel to fix the sides - remove the pins and enlarge some holes for the prongs on the indicators to fit through.

Aldi dremel the front to make it fit flush (where the black edging is):

The rears were a real bugger to fit - when i removed the orginal one the pins snapped inside the holes :headbang: So i had to drill them out! Stuck all of them down with double sided tape, except the rears which push back in.

Not fitted the wheel ones yet as I am getting new wheels from the stealers to replace some corroded 108's.

They look great. I think they are so much better on some colours than blue and white

Glad the Aldi 'Dremmel' worked out.

What part of Derby are you from? My home town...

Yeah i have to agree the carbon ones do make a subtle change to the appearance of the car - much nicer then the stock blue ones. I even think the quality of the eBay ones is better then the OEM ones - especially the wheels the badges seem to have more resin to them.

Yeah was so glad i finaly got to use the Aldi dremmel! If i had to cut and file these badges manually it would have taken ages - so even if i never use the dremel again (which i am sure i will) it was money well spent

I now live in the city center of Derby - off Frier Gate - moved here a few years ago for work, seen a few Z4's around here. Where abouts in Derby are you from?

Born and raised in Littleover, started out married life in Mickleover. My daughter now lives just off Friar Gate by the old prison and I'm often down there. Small world.

Think I may get a set of these, think the black carbon will suit my Midnight blue?

Small world indeed! I'll have to keep an eye out for your car - its not exactly hard to miss with the quads!

I say go for it! Midnight blue is practically black in our weather with no sun!

The silver part of the badge would work well with any light coloured car too.

I showed some people at work my handy work yesterday - one guy got a picture up of his old red E46 and he had red and black badges on that - looked very swish!

How do you remove the bonnet, boot and steering wheel badges?

Bonnet - there are two 10mm bolts under the badge holding it down - so remove one grill and you need to get a long socket (as the pin needs to pass through it)

Boot pry it off - held in by two pins - i wrapped electrical tape around a butter knife to stop it scratchng the paint and then pryed it off - mine was really stuck down so dont be shy with it! The pins snapped in the holes as a result so i had to drill them out.

Steering wheel - i stuck it down on top of the original one - its around 2mm thick so doesnt protrude too much - didnt want to remove the original one as it seemed to be clamped to the airbag.

You should be aware than in the event of an airbag deployment the badge you fit on will likely hit you in the face, wile the oem is fastened on with a series of bent metal tabs into the airbag case to retain it. Just something to consider....That said I cut my old badge off and trimmed the tabs back flush. If you read of a Zed driver with a cf badge stuck in his head it's likely me or one of the fellow badge swappers :)
