When you ditch Rub-Flats?

Well I have a sensor issue at present, if i swap out the run flats, do you code the car to tell it? i.e. do i need sensors if normal tyres?

When I switched to non-run flat, no re-code was necessary. Sensors continue to function per normal.

There are no sensors in the wheels on UK cars, its done of the ABS sensor so won't be affected.

My car feels completely different on non run flats even the wife noticed. Much more comfortable. Eagle f1's were the way to go for me and well worth the moolah.

The garage told me a had a bad sensor in one of the wheels? i.e the tyre sensor keeps coming on! when the tyres are fine!

Time to change garage if they told you that as like above it uses the abs sensor to detect a change in rolling radius.

Tyre warning light can come on when your right foot is a little too heavy, mine comes on when the roads are greasy.

On an E46 I had, the warning kept coming on. Turned out it was due to tracking etc being out which in turn led to turning radius anomalies.

If you have put different size tires front and back you will need to recode.

Not true, you simply reset the system like you would if you change the tyre pressures.

+3 Mine fired off after the change just followed the re-set per the book and it's never come back

You won't beleive it! After all these warning lights and worrying that it was something horrific it turns out the two back tyres (RF,s) had tiny nails almost invisible to the eye and just visible to the surface. God knows how I picked up so many and in both tyres but run flats will be gone tom morning. Another £400 on tyres but hopefully no more tyre lights, traction control etc
