Take the car to the garage to get a little bit of bodywork done. At some point in it's life, the Z4 had it's front drivers side wing replaced but it was done on the cheap as it wasn't rustproofed. So, it's in the garage having a little bit of surface rust sorted.
With 1500 miles before the service was due, they did that as well and replaced the main belt up front. Got them replace a headlamp washer at the same time.
Whilst it was in the garage, decided to get the brake lines replaced as they were corroded and would fail this years MOT (got an advisory last year).
As it's up in the air, the tyres are given the once over and they are looking a bit on the thin side (when I say thin, racing slicks have more tread on them). I did get an advisory on them at last years MOT so I knew they needed replacing.
Had a look at the wheels before the tyres were fitted and decided they were looking a bit tatty...so replaced the wheels at the same time.
So, to summarise: -
* bodywork
* service (with belts and headlamp washer)
* brake lines
* wheels
* tyres
So after a few weeks, I'm looking forward to having the car back as the weather looked good this weekend. Go to pick it up it's looking rather good. Drive away and have to negotiate a few pot holes in the drive way and as I drove through one of them (slowly) and manage to snap a front spring! So the car is staying put and having two new front springs put on next week. Now do I go for standard on the front or replace all four with Eibachs?
I daren't total up how much I've spent so far as if I do, SWMBO will go spare!
