When was the last time you went for a drive!

Like AJ, everyday to and from work....
I think what they ment was when was the last time you just went for a drive. The sort of drive that is no point other than driving. Not really going somewhere.

Mine was about 3 weeks agao. I actually took a day off work! Mind you, as Clarksnon said, motorcyclists do this all the time and I'm a motorcyclist also! Just going on one of those trips on a nice day is a lot better on a motorbike than any car mind, even my Z4! :cpilot:

Just as Clarkson showed a good drive is only possible in the UK if its 4am :( Im just tooo attached to my bed at that time :D

Spose that depends where you live :? I manage to find plenty of empty roads most times im out for a drive - Sunday morning tends to be best :D

Actually I'm sat here in my office looking out at my Z4 in the car park on a glorious sunny day, so I may go for a pointless drive lunchtime!! :driving:

My only 'domestic resident daughter' ...lol is on holiday so just back from 3 days in the Zed just touring/drifting around Warwickshire with my wife. Roof down, sunny and no particular hurry to go anywhere and a great hotel waiting in the evening.

My wife could not even do any shopping as I made sure the boot was full of her luggage

Oh I love the Zed in summer.. :driving:

Sunday mornings are great for finding quiet roads. North Wales has some fantastic roads with very little traffic once you get away from the main routes. Yorkshire as well, love the Ingleton to Hawes road followed up by the 'Buttertubs' Pass, great scenery great driving -as long as you avoid the sheep!

I took a drive yesterday evening from 7:45 - 9:30 pm. For me, a nice cool evening 65-75 degrees while the sun sets, with some nice music playing is the absolute best. We have so many nice lakes and trees in my area. Top down driving in these conditions can't be beat.

just went on a trip to south miami via i95. it was fun zipping in and out of traffic.

i also tend to get lost at times... but the places i get lost with i end having a great ol' time with my woman.

no complaints. i get lost on purpose sometimes just so that i can drive. it's a hobby* :driving:

I put my top down when it is 40deg F. Hot-cold-whatever, I like the open sky above me.

Same here.

It's been 95+ all the way up to 102 here for the last four weeks...

Normal weather, just a week or so early...

Two weeks ago I took a trip to my sisters (180 mile trip one way) and came home the long way...450 miles! :D
In two weeks I'm taking a 4 day mini vacation to Ouray Colorado via the San Juan Skyway road and back on the Million Dollar Highway through Silverton and Durango. Total trip should be about 1000 miles.

Two weekends ago. I went through red rock scenic route (the temp was about 105 F, so not many people there) and had a good fast paced lap. Then on down the highway to go to pahrump (was following the Mad Maps scenic route. Then through Pahrump (NO, I did NOT stop and partake in any activities-though I was tempted to go to a spa there), and heading back for Vegas on the 95. Drove up Mt Charleston. I was pulled over halfway up the mountain for doing 82 in a uhm 55 I think (it was a straightaway). The cop asked me if I knew how fast I was going, I said not really. He told me 82 and I said "oh", then he said no, your supposed to say is that all officer?" El oh el, so he asked for my license then we talked about the car an a little about me, I offered to show him the engine which he accepted, then he said ok, keep it near the speed limit as tough as that is for you. I love cool cops. Then I proceded to go down Lee Canyon Rd, but with Mt Charleston being around 20 degrees cooler (car said 72) there was a bit of traffic, so I had a relaxing drive, plus there was gravel from the mountain on the road, so that kept me slow too.

All in all, the drive was ok. I say Ok, because it just sucked on the highway between Pahrump and Vegas.
I think this weekend I might try the Dam to Dam route, though I think I know that drive already.

Kurts05Z4, I've done that ride through Ouray and the Million Dollar Highway on a motor cycle. Beutiful drive, enjoy!

Beautiful pics! Thanks.
I should have some matching ones in two weeks!
Trying to decide between the Ouray Hotel (turn of the century Victorian) or the Riverside Inn (rustic with a western motif but on the river).

Today!
And a little pebble decided to fly up in the air and where do you think it landed??? :o
Right smack on the windshield in front of me!
Put a nice crack in the windshield instantly! :x
Luckily I have a windshield guy I deal with at work. He's going to replace it for me with OEM glass for $475...
oh well...

Can't you repair it, or is the crack too bad?
