When selling, take off mods or not ?

After having a look around...

I was thinking £15k as it is with all bits....And hope for a quick buyer...

Problem is as we know mods dont add much value, just make it easier to sell.

If your 224's are mint that are worth £450+ without tyres, tyres with 6mm (good brand) will get you another £300+. That what I got more mine selling separately. Your reps are worth maybe the same but no more, so I would give the buyer the choice. Advertise on the CSL's though as the car look better

What are you looking to change it for? Would say as slightly higher mileage then £12.5k -£13k without mods and £14k with

Think Jonnyb has the nail hammered on the head  the condition & extras will see the car get plenty of interest but the mileage will dictate the price a buyer will ultimately pay
The extras never recover their worth attached to the car but it can be hassle over a few weeks to remove & pocket the cash
The plate i would save , the springs ? £125/£!50 max ? if its worth the effort changing them then do so but if it was mine i would offer
the car as it stands but with standard exhaust at £13250

What have you in mind to fill its shoes ?

When I was looking at z4's earlier this year, prior to buying and prior to the finding the forum, I was put off by obviously modded cars. Not really sure why, I suppose all the advice out there tends to advise cautioun. For example, I distinctly remember seeing cars de-badged at the rear/non M cars with M badges and I dismissed them. Thanks to the forum, modifications wouldn't put me off now but I'm no longer a new buyer. I personally would go standard. Just IMO for what it's worth.

I have got some money coming up in a few months so i might just treat myself to something nice..

I get where your coming from Andy....... But i think £13,250 would be the ask for a standard car..... And probably the cheapest advertised..Like i say,a morning will put the car to standard, its an easy job...

SO..................

I know i can cash the Reg number for £610 with no fee's or stick it on SOR at £1500....

Im sure the exhaust would go for £500

I would get £100 for the springs..

Wheels we can leave/as its neither here no there....

So i could be £1200 up,so at advertising at £13,250 it would be like selling it for £12,000..

At £12,000 i think even you might buy it..... Or Paza would and stick it on ebay at £14,500..

personally id ask alittle more for the mods, nothin at all that detracts from the car in general, its not some hideous bodywork, just small cosmetic enhancing bits which are VERY popular in the z4 world, well in the car scene full stop now days even the classic guys, id say 14,500 min, but id be aiming for 14695.
