When other people's news makes you just stop and think

A friend has lost a friend to suicide today and he's completely floored by it. He was by all accounts successful and a really nice guy.

It's so sad that something can happen that made him feel this was his only option. I've lost a close friend who chose to take their own life, some of you may have been through this too.

Having had depression and stress in the past, all I can say is if you feel even remotely like this, please talk to someone. Not much more to say really

wise words

A workmate of mine in the Air Force hung himself. And guess who found him. Yes that would be me! Not a good thing. A world of emotions took hold. Why did he do it so I would find him. He had two young kids that are now fatherless. Oh! great. My workload just went up.
I felt bad for him. Yet what he did was very selfish.

As stated. Please get help.

I found the girl I shared a flat in Bristol with in May 2010, we were the same age. She had planned it with meticulous precision, even arranged an appointment for her Mother with her solicitor, the planning gave her something to look forward too.

I think we all have it in ourselves to do it, that is, reach a point where life gets so intolerable we believe that it's the only way forward.

I hope that you or your loved ones never reach that point.

Me too, only really got to grips with things when I started talking to people.

Sorry to hear this news. Tragic.

And what you say about talk, get help I wholeheartedly agree. Seek help. It isn't weak. Things can feel better.

Hope the numbness gets less about the friend.

Very sad. Yes, you can look at someone and never guess whats going on.
You have to talk it out to get things into prespective.
