When I checked my lottery ticket tonight...

I was bit shocked as I saw at least 5 numbers matched. Then I checked it again, I really only got 5 matched main numbers. Total prize is £1,405. I could have won £114,519 if I had the bonus ball as well. :D

But I paid over just £900 for the road tax and car insurance yesterday.

so near and yet so far............ :headbang:

So true. The jackpot was £4.4m and won by 1 person only. It was just 1 more number that I needed. :headbang: I could not sleep well last night because of the disappointment. :(

What is the chance of winning the jackpot with the same set of numbers again??? :headbang:

haha congratulations!

lottery balls dont have memory so exactly the same chance as any other set of numbers!

Congratulations.

I always find it hard to believe Camelot think its a fair system to award such an amount for 5 numbers.

3 numbers is hard enough. The most I ever match is 1!

is it not just that with 5 numbers the money is split between so many more people?

560 sharing a prize pot £790k for 5 numbers.

If I was chief camalot I would cap the top prize at £2m and share the wealth with the other winners (unless I ever match 6 that is)

I can't be bothered buying lottery tickets and given the odds on hitting the big one it doesn't diminish my chances of finding the winning one lying in the road!

My biggest win was about £53, my mum had 5 numbers a couple of years ago, I was on the phone to her when they were doing the draw and she got the first 5 numbers to come out but not the 6th, ended up with about £4k but that was back when the prizes were bigger

Ksher,

My girlfriend got 5 numbers last night as well ! :)

Be grateful - that was a pretty good ROI on a £1 investment ! :poke: :)

How is she going to spend the winning with you? Holiday this summer?

IF only
What would buy ??
Where would you drive ?? :driving:

Depend on the size of the jackpot. If something likes £4m, I will buy a used Ferrari F430 before the brand new McLaren MP4-12C is built (2-year waiting list). I will take the car to different race track every weekend :driving: .

the only (??) problem with the lottery is that it makes a whole lot of people poorer (esp those playing every week), and a few people very rich. It seems to me, to be a rather regressive form of taxing the poor (who buy more lottery tickets on average),
Still, I guess if it makes people happy ...but how much false hope does it give?
