When did Carly go to a subscription modeL?

I just got an announcement from the Carly people that I was now the beneficiary of the full, unlimited, does-everything version, replacing the pro version I bought from the iTunes store; good news. I also found, looking at this new whiz-bang version, that it costs $59 a year, automatically renewing; bad news.
When did this happen? was it always subscription, or what?

March sometime it launched, however if you owned the previous version before this new model was released you have free access for life.

Not long ago, I did a post at the end of March. https://z4-forum.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=2&t=104654

Think a few of us have had rise in blood pressure when reading the update from the Carly people.

Only blood pressure? How about the shock/fear/concern/mini heart attack you have when you get a beep from the OBC like when your temp drops to 0 degrees.

Perhaps it's just me, but I've noticed it's constantly throwing out the wrong codes for my engine these days, as well as refusing to connect to live parameters

Have to agree. I've always found Carly ok for coding those things you like that it offers but diagnostic wise its pants and as you say misleading. I stick to inpa/ista for that
