When did 326M's get remanufactured?

New owner to be and just trying to figure out whether my 2012 20i will have the 'fixed' design I've seen mentioned.

Any ideas? Totally paranoid about them - almost to the point of swapping them out...and I've not even picked up the car yet!

Likely not very much, but some of the accounts from folks on here going through several wheels is really crappy! Hoping mine are the newer type...

Alternatively, does anyone have a photo of the inside lip of either a definite old one or a definite redesign? Might help!

Undecided on whether I'll just get rid!

Bumpety bump...

Anyone with a photo of the inner lip change for me to compare to pretty please?

After 4 days, I've grown quite fond of these giant wheels so would be nice to say they're not going to crack haha.

My car is almost brand new and has 326s so ill take a look. Won't be until the end of the week though

Here you go. I'd just done 250 miles to north wales, so sorry about the dirt. :)

You can see that the wheel is very thick in the centre 2/3. Then there is a rounded step. It's a March 2015 car.

Thanks for getting back to me! :)

Mystery continues though - this were taken before I bought the car when the place was refurbing the wheels - doesn't look too different, other than the step looks bigger, but think that might be the angle.

Its difficult to say, but even if the whole wheel in thicker you wouldn't tell unless you compare side by side without tyres.

if i did get any cracks, my line with bmw shall be that ive personally done 500,000 miles in z4s on 18 inch wheels with no cracks. A precedent is set that it is not the road or driver.

ive owned 12 bmws snd they'd never see my money again, so think carefully bdfore rejecting my claim.

I must admit the 19s do give a crashy ride and I fear that cracks are just a matter of time. :|

You're definitely in a better position to argue I suspect haha.

I think I'll get rid and get a set of nice 18s with winter tyres, then get summer tyres in a few months.

It's annoying as I REALLY like the 326s :(

I bought my car with just a nearside rear alloy that had a crack in it, but none of the others. (Same wheels as yours)

About two months later, the offside rear alloy cracked in two places, possibly after hitting a pothole, so i decided to weld them up and raise the tyre profile by 5% and use non run flat tyres. I just checked them today and there has been no further cracks, but yeah, the rear alloys are clearly known for cracking.

Mine is a 2012 Z4 also with 326 type alloys... I do kind of wish i had the 325M type instead.. Especially for London roads :headbang:

If you do sell yours, i might be interested in the rears for the right price 8)

Hi Ross! I will be selling. New alloys arrive tomorrow so won't bother putting them up til I've got the 326s off to check they're still OK after 2 weeks....fingers crossed though!!

Sweet! Did you go for the 325M type? The 18's generally don't have problems, as I have a friend with 18's on his F30 with no issues! My advice would be to drop the run flats though, they're a waste of time.. Terrible ride quality, overpriced and they have poor grip!
