It would be probably more cost effective to replace your buckled alloy and get a set of PS4S tyres to replace your runflats instead of forking out for a set of 18s + tyres.

As Mr Wilks denoted, up the tyre profile, drive carefully and you’ll be fine

How did you wrap your tyres in a playstation ??

I have 18s wrapped in PS4 and have found the sidewall quite forgiving :driving:

That’s sooooooo funny

One or two people have had slight issues with the 225/40, going the 235/35 gives a slight profile increase to go along with the 255/35 rears.

Did you go for 235/35? Are you on msport suspension?

I have considered doing likewise. However, the issue for me is if you get a flat tyre - even if you have a space saver spare - where do you put the wheel with the flat? It won't fit in the boot from what I have heard.
it will fit in the boot... so long as you have nothing else in there

Like the OP I've tried to stick with the runflats but 3 split alloys, 1 leaking damper and two new rear springs later I've got the message :headbang:

Replacing them with 4 of these bad boys clad in Michelin Pilot Sport

Will post a piccy or two next week after they're fitted :driving:

Alpina alloys fitted with Michelin PS rubber. A quick 30 mile test drive to my favourite coffee shop and the ride is soooo much better than with runflats. It is like driving a different car, no more crashing over modest rough road surface but instead a more cushioned bump. The handling is still like rowing a canoe but I'm going to throw some after market dampers at it when pennies allow.

Anyone else considering sticking with runflats… don't, the damage over time on alloys and suspension is not worth it :poke:

What size are you wheels and what size tyres did you opt for?
