Wheels and offsets

Simple question, my dad recently bought a F10 5 series and it came with a spare set of wheels with winter tyres. Now as he hardly drives the car during the week and I use mine for commuting, he said I'm welcome to use them myself over winter.

The question is, will they fit? They're style 327, so 8x17 ET 30

Rim would be fine but tyre will.be too fat I'm sure, which will result in inaccurate speedometer​.

You didn't say the tyre size.

Width wise though the rears would but the fronts are too low an offset so would stick out too much. Standard is 47 so unless you've got thin walled tyres (which you won't if it's from a 5) then it's likely to rub on the wheelarch.

So long as the rear tyre is no bigger in circumference than a 245/40/18 then it would be fine for speedometer accuracy.

I'm not sure on the tyre size, but I did anticipate the fronts wouldn't work so well.

He did say they are a smaller profile than the 'standard' 17's off the F10, which are 225/55/17. I believe they might well be 225/45.

If they're 225/45 then you could reuse the rubber? Don't think you can make it work (fit) using the offsets...

If they're 225/45 then you could reuse the rubber? Don't think you can make it work (fit) using the offsets...

yeah as i've said in my post the rim will be fine, the tyre will be an issue on stock f10 tyre sizes.

Yes, but with that offset, you're on the edge, even with standard tyre sizes

f10 uses 225/55R17 that not not going to rub anywhere
