Wheels and insurance

I've just insured my Z with Swift and called them for advice about the aero kit that was fitted by the previous owner and not part of the original factory order.

They told me as the kit was a BMW part supplied and fitted by a BMW dealer (I have the invoices) it did not have to be declared.

So I didn't but do I trust them? No.

Thanks for all the replies - I think some people have misunderstood my original question and assumed I am trying to dodge telling them about the wheels, which isn't the case. I was just pondering the technicality of whether they can be classed as an "optional extra" rather than "non-standard". But I think I'll just be stating that they are non-standard.

That's wrong - an optional exta is only something listed in the brochure that could be specified at the time of purchase. 108 wheels would be a good example.

Wheels designed and specified for a different BMW are not.
 
But he has an M, so surely M3 wheels would have been on the list due to the offsets etc.

I will dig out the options list hang on
