OMG ! What's happening to Mike and Ed !! Don't know about the RX7 with the Wankel engine think there were three Wankels on the show last night !

How to ruin the look of a car with Snake Skin alloys !!!!!! And some dodgy Snake Skin stickers !!!!

Maybe I'm just getting old !!!!!!!

And the guy who sold it bought it back for £4k more!

cleaver tho in one way as he got it all fixed up. i would say the 4K he spent buying it back was probably less than the cost of getting all the bits fixed up. Also as it was on tv im guessing the jobs were done properly to avoid any litigation.

ive only just caught up on the porka. did he really need to spend that much on those shocks? seemed a bit overkill to me. the cynic in me would say the company paid a hefty fee to have their stuff in that car.

I only saw the end and am very glad because it looked like a waste. Theyve ventured out in recent years and some have been great like the Delorean and some of the more exotic cars.

I do prefer it when they work on more honest 80s classics though..

Yeah preferred it when they had smaller and tighter budget, but they are trying to widen their audience so I guess the change in budget and type of car is inevitable

Always enjoy this programme, but did think that car wasnt their normal type as it didnt really need anything doing to it.

Apart from broken aircon...which they ditched!

They totally ruined the look of a good car and why did they have to keep stressing it had a Wankel engine in it.

Was interesting when Ed said that although they are sold as 1.3 cars, they are more like 4 litre. If that is true, then it explains the performance and thirst!

same reason that they kept saying the porka was "the last of the air cooled ....." crap script writes and 2 people who have nothing interesting to say.

i remember the earlier Rx's i think the rx7 was sold like that. i remember some one talking to me about one where their insurance made some comment about it being a bit high for a 1.3! :D

my take on this is they just borrowed the car and did it up for him and all the buying/selling was a load of old flannel

my Dad was a Mazda dealer and he let me have a go in one of the first RX7's it was very smooth and quick

they guy bought it back after they spent £4.99 'fixing it' by taking out the air con... ragging it about a track and putting the worst decals on a car I've seen for a long time??

hmmm... my style of OEM+ is obviously well off the mark...

I'm away to put zebra stripes on the Zed and sell it for a gazzillion pounds....

Looking forward to watching this on catch up. Can see the engine actually inside a car instead of on my living room floor.

Actually, found the episode quite interesting. I agree the final paint job was garish, although I was quite impressed with the finish on the wheels (except for the orange edging). The body graphics were a bit hit & miss though. I was more interested in how the programmable tuning worked, should have spent longer on that. Nice explanation of the Wankel engine and the "its only a 1.3, honest" defence, though.

Loved the RX7 when he brought it, i would have sprayed the wheels and rear spoiler gloss black instead of that snake skin :!:

yeah. the guy who used to do my cars had an rx7 in for ages that he did something similar to. black wheels, black all over, and silver grills where needed. the bodykit/bumper/spoiler i dont think were standard but nothing was outlandish and it all fitted really nice. shame i didnt have the 8K he wanted for it

I wonder if the 'new' owner has kept the graphics on?

probably paid someone to remove them...

then paid them for throwing them away...

or hopefully, paid someone to petrol bomb that car...
