I HATE the show personally, as said above it's all staged.....

True but I like how they show the work being done. I miss 'The Garage' with Jock!

Haha, I was going to say in my original post about "The Garage", that one I do enjoy... good to hear it's making a return.

I've often wondered how the decide what car to focus on. The show always starts out with Mike on the prowl for a particular model because it's a brilliant example of blah blah whatever. I suspect it's more like staffers are always shopping for any interesting cheap car. The actual purchase is made by staff without cameras, then the process is re-enacted with Mike for effect. Surely the presence of cameras or Mike Brewer's face would poorly skew any sales price.

I've no idea really, I just don't think it's that easy. I thoroughly enjoy watching the show, but a few thing don't ring true. It always bugged me that Edd apparently works for free as far as the profit tally at the end of the show goes. What ever profit they claim to make rarely would pay for Edd's time, so who ever ends up with these cars is getting a good value considering what really went into the car.

Still, it's easy to look beyond such things and enjoy the show.

Do you think Edd China really does the work himself? I suspect it's more likely done by that Paul fella who lurks just out of shot as soon as the cameras start rolling. There's probably a small team working on the cars and Edd is recorded periodically loosening the last couple of bolts or tightening something up whilst giving his narrative.

Still love the show though! If it tells you one thing it's that restoring cars PROPERLY is a labour of love and it is extremely difficult to break even, let alone turn a profit. Some punters get a good deal at the end as they are typically paying for the parts that have gone into the job only so straight away a grand plus of labour isn't factored in.
