I was sad enough to watch that prog this afternoon where the bought a cheap e46 stay M3

I don't know when the made but it seemed quite recent.
The car was sold for £6k - the registration was on full view so out of curiosity I checked the dvla web page and it became untaxed in April 2013

I reckon they are just bodge jobs for the camera!

I have never seen an E46 M3 on wheeler dealers, thought I had seen them all.

What colour was it? Coupe or vert?

I think it was an E46?
Reg M300 SBD, convertible .
Not sure if very dark blue or black.

I think the car had suffered a hard life before the TV got it, the upholstery was goosed as was the gearbox.

There was a Wheeler Dealers episode with a Nissan R33 GTST, you see it being 'sold' but it's to a member of the crew and the car is still for sale on the Skyline Forums. They just can't shift it.

When I had my civic you used to get folk from the production teams trying to get people to sell cars to them at well under current market value, in some cases less than half. Needless to say they never had any takers.

Agree as are all these reality TV shows love the US shows where they scream and shout at each other to finish the car before the deadline as its needed by the customer only to see the same car parked in the background in a later episode

Thats right,

If you think Mike goes out and buys the cars, and Edd repairs them then a reality check is in order...

Whilst some may be not all. Happened to meet the Guy at last years Silverstone Classic who purchased the Z1 from a couple of series ago. The person you see 'doing the deal' wasn't the actual purchaser but a friend of his who agreed to appear on his behalf so he could remain anonymous but it was a legit deal. At the time of Silverstone he hadn't taken delivery but he was at the BMW festival in Gaydon in August with the car.
