Wheel stuck on hub?

My son, who is a mechanic, told me to use a 2 lb sledge hammer... Judicious belt to the rear of the rotor breaks them free... Works too. Might need to give a couple of belts but it will always come free.

Jack car up loosen but don't fully remove bolts.
Sit on drive then alternately stamp your feet either side. Doesn't damage rims or stress your back. Copper slip when refitting.

I finally got the wheel off. I left 1 bolt in by a few threads, donned my biggest pair of rigger boots, lay on my back and kicked the living s**t out of the wheel. Rotate. Repeat. It eventually gave way. What a complete PITA it was!


try that on a hard shoulder in the pouring rain :thumbsdown: :headbang:
