Do you mean on the wheel itself? Not sure because say you parked next to a kerb, the chance of damaging the wheel are the same regardless of the wheel offset, is that right?
No, on the fender and body. I'm thinking that if the wheels are comptetely aligned with the fenders, the debrees that get stuck in the tire thread would hit the fender. Particularly with the front wheels since they steer...

Z4M wheels only ever came in 18inch / 8j front / 9j rear style 224 but regards a 3.0ZC any 5 x 120 wheelset with approx offsets between et 35/et45 will fit
