Wheel removal and clean?

Hi all,

I am hoping when the weather picks up a little to remove the wheels off my z and give them a good clean in and out and protect them in some way. But i have a couple of qustions...
1 - What the best way to jack the car up as ideally I would remove 2 tyres at once (front then back), I have 1 trolley jack and a few stands..
2 - Should I remove all 4 at once, if so how?
3 - Whats the best way to protect them so they stay cleaner for longer?

Thanks all

Andy

Jack up each front corner on the lifting pad. Place an axle stand close to it on the pad.

Jack the rear centre where the brace steps meet and put another stand under each rear sill jack pad. Job done, but I leave the trolley jack too as a 5th point.

I use Poorboys wheel sealer. 2 coats

I've had the wheels off a couple of times now to check for cracks on the 296 wheels. There's no particular need to take all four wheels off at once, if you are just inspecting and cleaning.

I don't know if the E85 chassis is as stiff as the E89, but I'm able to lift up the car on the rear jacking points with a trolley jack enough to get axle stands under the front jacking points, as the whole side of the car lifts up. Once the axle stands are securely under the front jacking points, I chock the rear wheels and then have nice secure and stable access to the front wheels etc. I then do the opposite for the rear wheels.

I'm looking to give the wheels on our Z4 a really good clean next time they are off, in terms of products, I've been recommended:

Iron X - Gets all the nasty stuff off your alloys.

CQuartz DLUX

The later is new, but has good reviews and it's quoted as providing protection for up to 1 year.
