Wheel Refurb

Hi all,

I recently, grazed a kerb and frustratingly the tyre lip wasnt quite strong enough to take it, leaving me with a slightly kerbed alloy, its not bad, but is sufficient to be annoying every time I look at the car.

After checking with a couple of smart repair places, they were unable to repair BMW wheels due to the laquer ued.
Can anybody recommend any good Smart Repairers? Preferaly with a call-out service, or within the Guildford area.

Thanks

p.s. Dont know if this makes any difference on finishes etc but they are 19" Alpina Dynamics.

do a google search for diamond cut refubishers...its very exspensive though.

you could remove all the laquer and polish. then leave bare or laquer it

or repair and paint finsh the diamond cut areas.

and or replace the wheel.

you cant localise the repair on diamond cut finishes as far as im aware.

a picture of the wheel, generic or yours would be handy

are they these

if so heres an example i did today for a friend

rota sub zero wheels - features painted spokes and diamond cut lips (metal lathed and laquered)

DSC03816.jpg

dremeled the curb rash, masked up and lip sprayed to match the spoke - i did this myself with cans and a little wetsanding..its 99% spot on... a body shop or wheel specialist would have got it 100%. ive the other 3 to do tomorrow

its not the oem finish but far better than before...its cost my friend £25 in materials for all wheels.. bodyshops would prob be 50-100+ per wheel i should think

search my bbs plit rims refurb on here for the polished effect..

lovely wheel

and cheers! getting into wheels now..ive a queue of frinds and family that want theirs all looking at... :(

Those are the wheels.

Look absolutely lovely on the car, aside from the recent kerbing..

They arnt diamond cut, or bare metal anywhere, so assuming its a simple case of filling, sanding, painting and laquering. I have attempted DIY repairs on wheels before, and have had reasonably good results. But with the amount these wheels have cost me I'm not risking doing th repair myself, much rather pay £50-75 quid for a professional to do a 100% perfect job.

Anyone got any recommendations?

the matching the laquer thing sounds a bit weird...not heard that before. and defo a pro job on such nice wheels.

i was confued earlier i thought with whta you had written they were diamond cut. my bad

Sorry - thats my fault.

There not diamonf cut, just alloy, painted and laquered. Aussume its a fairly simple job for a bodyshop or smart repairer. Just need to find a good one, and was hoping someone could recommend someone good, not had an experience with alloy repairs previously, and want to make sure I get a good repair as the wheels are my pride and joy!

Thanks
