Is anyone running 8.5 wide wheels on their Z4? There are no Z4 stock front wheels that wide, only back wheels in a staggered setup. I am considering new wheels and wondering if a 17 inch 8.5 wheel with 225/45-17 is too wide? Is anyone running this setup now with any problems?
 
Many people are running 8.5" wide front wheels on their non-M's, with either 225 or 235 tires. The key is the wheels' offsets, which will dictate whether the front wheel rubs the inner liner or not.
 
Thanks for the info GP20. I see that it is an option for the Z4 non M on wheel retailers websites, But i havent seen any posts specificaly with 8.5 on the fronts. Thanks.
 
Well, if you have a 3.0i, might as well go with 18" wheels. They'll look better and ride will still be very comfortable with non-run-flat tires. If you still have OEM run-flat tires, change them. They're absolutely horrid.
 
I am running Turner's Light weight tires with 8.5/17 in front and 9/17 at the rears.

No rubbing or any other problems. However I have 225/45/17's front tires that I think looked just a bit skinny for 8.5'' rims.
