Wheel off-set question

Sure this has probably been answered elsewhere in the forum, but after having a good look through, I havent been able to get a definitive Yes or No.

Looking at a set of Alpina Dynamics from an E90 - Offsets are 34 on the front and 36 on the rear, realise these are quite a bit away from the oringial off-sets for a z4, but will be fit? And if they do fit are they likely to rub the arches?

Front wheels & tyres
8.5J X 19
225/35/19

Rear wheels and tyres
9.5J X 19
255/35/19

Any help much appreciated.
 
This won't answer your question but the math is as follows...

The offset for the Z4 with an 8" rim in the front is 47mm so with a 8.5 inch rim the inner clearance will be 7 mm more. The wheel will extend out an extra 19mm.

The offset for the Z4 rear with an 8.5" rim in the rear is 50mm so with a 9.5 inch rim the inner clearance will be 1mm more. The wheel will extend out an extra 27mm.

That is actually fairly helpful, 19mm sounds a bit too excessive to be able to get away with. Especially as I dont wat too much rubbing (if any) Had many cars before, and dreaded going over pot holes or speed humps.

Will have to get my measuring tape out, but sounds like the off-sets are too severe.

They aren't going to fit, at all.

If you have an M Z4, the rears would fit fine, but the fronts will not fit at all.
If you have a standard Z4, neither will fit, they will both be mashed on your outside fender.

The front's fine for a Z4M. I have 19x8.5 ET32 and have had 245/35/19 & 235/35/19 tires and my M's lowered on TCK coilovers. I have never run into rubbing issues.


If you have a standard Z4, neither will fit, they will both be mashed on your outside fender.

For a regular Z4, that front offset will rub the inner fender liners. But the rear is fine.
 
Its an extremely aggressive offset for the rear. You know I've run 9.5 +22s, with significant rubbing. +30 with a 9" works apparently. Assuming that is minimum clearance, someone can do the math from there.

Of course your 9.5" ET22 rubs; it's the wrong offset for the Z4. But ET22 equals not ET36. A 9.5" wide ET36 rim extends only 0.35mm (or about 0.01") more towards the fender compared to a 9" wide ET30 rim.
