Hi,

Anyone have a view on Locking Wheel Nut's what's best? I have none on my 3.0 and am getting wheels refurbished so wanted some good ones.

I've looked on the forum and can't find much. What do you guys use?

Thanks,

Steve

I use the ones sold by BMW. Most BMW dealers carry them on this side of the pond...

Might be of use:

£17.50 delivered for genuine BMW ones from a dealer.

OEM aren't the best as there are only a limited amount of keys which are fairly easy to obtain and which can be overcome too easily by thieves. McGard Ultra have had a good name for several years now and seem to provide a reasonable deterrent to the opportunist thief, however, if someone really wants your wheels they will be able to overcome any locking nut with the right tools.

I bought a secondhand set of ACS locking nuts, in reality they are McGARD but with a much better finish. Agree McGARD seem to have a vastly greater combination set to deter the opportunist thief AND 90% of crime is opportunist.

imo stock bmw locking nuts are pretty useless.... and its pretty easy to get hold of the keys for them - well so the police told my parents after someone stole their neighbours M5 wheels off his car on his driveway overnight.

Email Joe at link above and his price for a set of McGARD is £27.75 delivered. Might be useful for someone?

I've already bought the OEM ones so they will do for me, don't think 107's are popular enough to be worth stealing.
