Hi,i have been looking through the forum and the net for an answer to my question but as yet i have not really found a definitive answer, i am looking at a set of staggered alloys for my Z4 2.5si 2007 with the sport suspension, the wheel and tyre sizes are:
Front 8x18 225/40/18
Rear 8.5jx18 255/40/18
the ET on the rears is ET37 not sure on the fronts but i believe the wheels where fitted on an E90

So the question is regarding the ET (will the wheels stick out to far) and is the 40 profile ok on the rear as currently running a 35(rear) on the staggered MV2 rims

Providing the front Et is between 30/50 (if standard E90 then probably be around 35 ) then they will fit & drive fine .
If the front tyres need replacing then up them to 45 profile & you will fill the arch gap & improve the ride

 Great stuff thanks for that...tyres only have 200 miles on so will not need replacing, but will keep that in mind for when they do.

Once fitted i would check the speedo readings against a satnav so you know whether you are over or under as there will probably be a slight difference to your current set up

Ok front ET is 35 rear is 37, how will these sit on the z4? Will they stick out too much?

Here is a link to the wheels i am looking at, any thoughts on how they will look? they are not a genuine BMW wheel , i can't decide if they will look right or improve the look, currently have staggered 18s MV2 in gunmetal on the the Ruby black metallic..would post photos if i could work out how too from Mac!!

They'l fit fine & after seeing Mmonkeys similar wheels up close last week i can also say they'l look fine too

One last thought .. The Bridgestone turanza?? Seen a few reports about them and I quote "c##p"

They're a very nice looking wheel probably my personal favourite on a zed, however the mv2 is also a great looking wheel on the zed, personally at that money i would stick with the mv2 if they're in good condition, if theyre in need of a refurb and new tyres then the others are a good shout if you're happy to throw a g at them

700 would see you with an excellent refurb of your already very nice mv2s, 4 vredstein ultrac vortis ( brilliant tyre) and a set of spacers to improve the stance, all depends on how you want to splash your cash, Yes many reports of the Bridgestone not quite suiting the zed

Some good advice there , my mvs are mint as had a refurb 4 weeks ago , the chap selling the wheels said I can take them for £800 and he is local to me .. Spacers on my mvs could be an option , some more info on that would be appreciated..

Mr Wilks, what are the wheels on yours? They look nice.

19inch Axe Cs Lites in hyper black which is more a platinum / mirror finish tbh

Deeper concave on rears

After weeks of deliberating I'd finally decided on a set but seeing how good yours look has maybe changed my mind again :headbang:

To varying degrees:

- Differing increased track can increase under/oversteer. Most on here recommend wider rear so that would be more understeer.
- Increased hub wear
- Need to be careful you still get good bolt thread engagement or you need longer bolts
- More unsprung mass
- Need good quality ones or it can introduce imbalance
- Must have the right central diameter to sit on the hub spigot
- Probably counts as a modification for insurance purposes

But otherwise no.
