Wheel fit question - Atomics

Afternoon all,

Has anyone fitted atomic CSL reps in the following sizes to an E89 ?

8.5x 19 ET 38 235/35/19 front

9.5 x 19 ET 27 265/30/19 rear

From ‘will they fit’;

fronts sit inboard 15.4mm more ( not sure if there’s sufficient strut clearance) - possibly problematic

Rears poke 6.7mm more than 437M’s - I remember my 437m’s being pretty close to the arches on my previous E89.

Has anyone used this fitment without Coilovers without issues?

I suspect they will rub or be very close to rubbing..every car is different..on my 20i my Zito 935s with 265/3518 and 10mm spacer cleared easily..on the 35is they rubbed and even with 5mm spacer they would rub on big dips..

I have just fitted them to my E85 Roadster after looking at a post by Penelope who fitted them to a Coupe. You will find her post in the ‘Wheels and tyres section’ with photos.
I have attached photos of my car. I bought the wheels from BM Autosport and they were really helpful . I have had no problems with rubbing.34B3B048-9736-4151-A583-4946370EB63E.jpeg9745B8BF-F18C-46D2-AD20-2CECAE1C53EC.jpeg

Are they definitely the 9.5 ET 27 on the rear though? The Atomics come in a number of different offsets, they’re not all the same

I’ve found another E89 running 9.5 ET 27 Alloys in the E89 wheel thread, but the owner has gone with stretched 255 tires, lowered the car and added rear camber to make it work… I really don’t want to do all that :cry:

Found the thread you are referring to, the rears are ET 45… the ones in the classifieds are ET 27, so stick out of the arches by another 1.8CM, and 67MM more than the 437M’s I had on my last E89.

I think it’s very much touch and go :headbang:

That’s a shame. Mine are the same as Penelope’s. She bought hers from BM Autosport. So having seen hers and liked them I went there too for help and advice. I got the last set of his current stock at a really good price. Good luck with your search.

The thing is True-Blue wants them for an E89 Ian and OE E85/86 wheels have very different offsets to E89s.

Still those wheels look great on your car. :thumbsup:

Iain.
