Wheel corrosion on AUC car - warranty?

They do have some scuffs but it's clear these scuffs (to me) haven't caused the corrosion. As where the corrosion is isn't necessarily scuffed. I'll go and take some more photos as it will explain it better than I can.

According to the AUC site its not covered, when I enquired about the centre caps on mine they said no. Im sure if you persist / goodwill may help.

BMW should maybe take a lesson from Lexus?

A friend of mine took his 30 month old Lexus in for a routine service about 2 months ago.

Whilst waiting the service manager came in, apologised for the delay but they had spotted some pitting on the back wheels and were going to fit two new ones so it would take a bit longer than anticipated.

Ten minutes later he was back saying they'd seen some minor pitting on the front wheels and would change them too!

So he left a routine service with four new alloy wheels at no cost! and as he put it " I could barely see a mark when they showed me the wheels and you couldn't expect wheels to be perfect after nearly three years"

And he only bought a new Lexus as BMW refused to move a penny on price!

A lesson there for BMW I think!

I popped into my local dealer who just said it wasn't covered under warranty.

Unfortunately I didn't have the email with me to show them so a bit of a waste of time.

They did quote me on a refurb which was a cool £720!!!

I don't know what to do next as I don't want to be charged to tell me it's not covered. Give up I suppose ;)
