Wheel Colour?

So it's well trodden ground and last 2 times I've done different things with the 108's, but this time I'm a little stuck.

I've been running polished outer lips and flashed mirror chrome on the stars. Latest rendition has seen the insides polished, but 2 Winters and a lack of time has seen that idea off.

The insides are going to be powder coated black and the lips done in a fairly new treatment of mirror chrome powder coat. Should be a good balance of polished look and resiliance.

Question is the stars. They're not in bad condition and I could just leave them as-is, but my wheel refurbisher buddy is trying to convice me to something different. Now he's a bit leading edge, so have to be careful. He's just finished a set of bright orange 108's for a 1M track car !!

He has some sparkle graphite and suggests that as a stunning idea, but not sure if dark wheels are getting overdone.

So what do you guys think, knowing as many of you do what I've done to the car and the look achieved? If I'm honest I'm favouring doing the stars again as they are, but interested in ideas.

As she is now with contrasting light and dark shots:

Personally not a fan of dark wheels easpecially black ones, I like them to pop out you.
If you could keep the same of shade if not a touch lighter but add a bit of sparkle I would go with that.

How about a proper flip paint, something with 3 or 4 colours in it - magenta, green, orange, cyan

Personally I'd got back to almost standard, or maybe just a bit darker than standard. But then what's the point :P

Not so sure about the black inners.I lke the shadow crome effect on the stars and of the several variations on refinish I have seen think this looks the best particularly with the colour of your Zed. Sparkle graphite - for the hot rod boys I think and not the subtle look of your Zed. Mirror chrome powder coat on the rims - will look forward to seeing that.

Well that's settled then based upon the comments and my instinct.

mmm-five almost had me with the flip paint in multi coulour, but I'll be sticking with stars the same colour as now.

No Zed for me this weekend as the cars on one emergency rim and axle stands in the garage

Herminator - I was relieved when I scrolled down that you'd been that restrained.

Deal is done. Stars are stripped down and should be ready middle of the week. Since he's a friend it's an extra job slotted in for 'as and when', so patience needed.
