Wheel clearance to BC coilovers

Hey all,

Can anyone who has a set of BC racing coilovers installed tell me if the strut clearance got better, worse or stayed the same?

Here is my current clearance when using MV2s with a 12mm spacer (approx 27mm).

The reason I am asking is I might be going for a set of 9J wheels up front that reduces stock clearance (no spacers) by about 4mm, down to 11mm. I'm pretty sure this is OK to the stock damper strut (even without spacers), but was wondering if you gain or lose clearance with the BC racing coilovers.

I didn`t measure before changing but I didn`t notice any change in clearance . No rubbing where there wasn`t anything previously . Sorry I can`t help you more than that .

Thanks for the reply :)

Do you use stock wheels without spacers? Any chance next time you jack the front (or side) up you could just reach over and feel if the gap is in the region of less than 1cm or more like 2cm+?

That's interesting! Thank you so much for the photos!

The standard fit wheels (MV2s and the like) apparently sit 6mm closer to the strut that 224s!! Surely anyone with standard wheels and BC racing coilovers would get rubbing?

Do you have your car particularly low? Ie so the spring collar/seat sits in line with the tyre instead of above?

I might have to rethink my wheel choice then.

Yes it is pretty low . When I had the steering geometry done the guy advised me not to go any lower . The fronts could do with a spacer as you can see which would push them out to fill the arches better .
