Wheel cleaner..

I have some 313 reps with polished face. I've been looking at autobrites products and am at a quandary what to get to what would be best and safest on my wheels. Purple rain, or very cherry? And also if very cherry acid or non acid as I'm not sure what the difference is?
Sorry if it sounds a bit stupid.

Thanks,

I just use Autogym Bodywork Shampoo Conditioner on my wheels ..... seal them with collinite 845 wax

The wax keeps the nasty road salt getting to the rims....

I used Chemical Guys Diablo (always liked other Chemical Guys stuff) but it's rubbish. Going back to Valet Bilberry when I get around to (and can afford) buying some more detailing supplies.

You have to remember that all products like iron-x will strip all protection off (wax, sealant etc).
Best way is to deep clean first your alloys with acid or some strong chemicals, also iron-x will take iron off. But usually you will need some wheel acid too. It all depends how dirty alloys are. After that good waxing or protecting with sealant is good thing to do.

Then once/week just wash those wheels with brush and normal car shampoo.
Regural wash keeps alloys in good condition and you dont need any strong liquids for cleaning. Bilberry is good and safe.

No wheel cleaner for me either, Polish and Seal then just wash in the same way you would wash the car :)

I use planet polish Seal and Shine on mine

I use Autoglym Wheel cleaner. I dilute it in one of them garden sprayer bottle things and spray it on the wheels, leave it dwell for 5 minutes, agitate it with a brush and rinse off. Very good product, highly recommend.

Definitive Wax Wheel cleaner for me, then sealed with Af Mint rims or Def Wax Rotundus

Heres a few pics of the cleaner in action, no brushes etc, just sprayed on left a few minutes to work and jet washed off :D

And yes i know its not a zed, it was the test car with very stubborn brake dust etching that i tested the product on, thanks for looking

Thanks,
When I spoke with Autobrite in Stoke they advised you have to be careful with the acid type of cleaners , ,leave too long could cause problems , the wheels on my insignia comp care were caked in solid baked on brake dust ,and looked awful a combination of the v cherry wheel cleaner and purple rain worked , also agitate with a not too abrasive brush , the purple rain is amazing stuff , I would not advise an acid type of cleaner ,too risky mate.

As above avoid acid cleaners of any kind a good deep clean then use a wheel wax or sealant to finish after that its your regular bodywork shampoo

I use Iron X or Dragons Breath to clean the alloys then when they are dry I USED to use POORBOYS WHEEL PASTE SEALANT

BUT now I use this Sonax stuff.... its proper strong and even seriously beads water!
