Anyone know what the rod which screws into the hub to assist wheel changing is called?

Seen them highlighted on the forum

Trying to buy a pair from ebay and can't find them :(

:driving:

Wheel pin. I bought some nice stainless steel ones from the states. Cost about £12 each I think but will last for ever and have nice rounded ends.

Edit found this post I put up.

Thank you both - found them.

Called lug bolt alignment tools!

Already have one but I think wheel changing will be easier with two of the bolts.

Thanks again!

I just lift the wheel up and slap it on - never had to use any alignment tools. Back's easier because you can lock it still with the handbrake, but even the front's never been a problem on any of my Beemers! Can't see what the problem is, if it ever becomes one I'll make a temp pin out of some threaded stud bar - about a quid from B&Q or an old bolt with the head hacksawed off for free.

Ha, not the case for me - I find the rear a hassle to fit on my own - the weight alone makes it difficult when it's low on the hydraulic jack - the pins take the weight and align the wheel - so much easier for the sake of a few quid - makes perfect sense for me Dewi. . . . .might be the same for some others.

Pleased you don't have a problem and can cope

Me to , it's a doddle . I just position it in round about the correct position and put the locker in first .

I have one pin, but the thought of using 2 makes much more sense Paul, I will need to buy another one I think

These sound good to me. I assume that this is the sort of thing?

My only question is what thread type do the Z4's have? M12 1.5 according to google.

I have two but only use 1, the second one makes it a pain (IMO).
