Wheel Change

Hi All,

This is my pride & joy. The wheels are in need of a refurb so I intend to put my winter tyres on them and replace with a set of 19 inch rims. Mechanical stuff I have no problem with but wheels and tyres, offset and size is a different science.

The fronts 225 x 40 R18 92Y Continental Sport Contact 5's
The rears 255 x 35 R18 94Y Continental Sport Contact 5's

I currently use 15mm spacers on the rears and 12mm on the fronts, although in these pics the front spacers are not fitted.

If I want to go to 19 inch rims what tyre sizes and offset will I require? I previously had a car which used to rub of full lock which drives me bonkers and is not an option.

I will probably use the same tyre make which I find excellent. (I know personal choice!)

Now the real problem searching for a nice set of 19's!

I have ellipsoids and H&R springs ( wheels going in for refurb thursday )

It doesn't look like yours has been dropped so I would think about that when going bigger rims as I think Z's can look a little tall with bigger rims and no drop.

As for offset, it depend if you want to ditch the spacers and get a rim that already sits flush. whats your goals?

I believe the car is the M Sport suspension. I would consider lowering slightly but don't want it to become crashy. Not sure what offset I would need to get the rims sitting right. I used eichbachs on my last car which were ok.

Looking at something like these;

Just need to know what sort of offset I need.

Assuming widths of 8.5j & 9.5j aim for offsets around 40
Think "Rally" has similar set of 19s on his 3.0se roady so maybe worth a PM :thumbsup:

Lowering on Eibachs won't really make it more crashy compared to M suspension but changing to 19s will imo. Mine's on 19s and I love the look of them but it's definitely a rougher ride
