I've sent a quote request over to Paul. Lichfield isn't that far from me and would be worth the travelling on cJ's recommendations. I contacted rimstock recently and they were talking over 100 quid a wheel!

Hope you mentioned me so he gives you a good price :)

I have used the wheel specialist in Manchester with good results but you are looking at around £300 for splits as there is more work involved.

Personally i would have them done properly, and have the OEM look with the rim being diamond cut not polished..

Laquering over a polished lip will not last at all..

don't shoot 8)
is it a no-no to paint the outer rim with the inner ? i'm quite happy to have the whole wheel in same finish ?

Yes it would be a big mistake. The join as the paint tries to bridge the gap between outer and 'star' will break up real quickly and look a mess. You'll get no paint on the inner surfaces which are highly vulnerable and so soon start corrosion under your new paint and you'll have 80 painted in bolt heads.

Cj10 is spot on the mark...

Its why splits are expensive to refurb properly..painting them all one colour and not splitting them will last weeks at best.. Once they start to split the paint at the joins the wheels will look shabby again..

Have them done once, and do them properly.... Its gonna cost ya,but thats splitties.. Budget around £70-£80 a wheel depending if you have tyres on them that will need removing/fitting...

Just to add about Rimstock.... They are probably the best refurbers in the country..Yes they are expensive, but when only the very best will do,they are the people to send them to

Only sent the online quick quote request so will speak to Paul and mention your name CJ. Does he know you as your forum name?
