Wheel Bolts

This may sound like a stupid question, so bear with me, but is there such a thing as 'cheap stay away from' wheel bolts?
I've just had my 224 alloys refurbished and now it makes the wheel bolts look nasty and corroded and in need of a change.
I've seen a few sets of wheel bolts on eBay for around £25 that claim to be rust resistant, which would be ideal. Obviously the last thing I want is to be cruising down the motorway and watching one of my wheels overtake me :o
Are wheel bolts all the same or is there a better brand to go with.

Again, may be a stupid question, but better to be safe!

Get a wire brush and remove any rust from bolts. Then get a bit of foam and make 5 holes in it. Put the bolts in head up and paint them. Thats what i have done just be careful fitting them :thumbsup:
 
Yeah I did get some of those covers and they look ok on 4 of the bolts. I also bought new plastic covers from BMW for the locking wheel nuts, but the locking wheel nuts are so corroded that the plastic covers don't hold on and fall off, hence why I thought they may be past it and in need of changing.
I might gamble on a set off eBay, see what they're like. Every BMWover 3 or 4 years old I see parked up seems to have the same issue with rusty wheel nuts, so I'm not inclined to buy new ones from BMW if they're not that great quality and likely to rust again.
 
I bought another set. I think it was from the official BMW Ebay shop as they almost as cheap and then did as machine monkey had done to my old ones so I am ready to switch them around. I have a polystyrene fish box in my garage with 16 bolts. 4 security bolts and a key all sticking out waiting. :D
 
I replaced all my bolts with chrome steel ones from Ebay, they are as good as new after 2 years, and no wheels coming off (yet) :roll:
Didn't bother replacing the locking bolts..
 
I've just fitted my refurbed alloys and found the same. I was going to paint them, but then its not much more to buy new bolts on eBay. My locking wheel bolts were pretty chewed up too, so needed replacing. So I brought this set on eBay. Its only been a few weeks, so I can't comment on the rust proofing, but they seem good enough quality.
 
I had considered painting them before I bought the Ebay ones, but thought they wouldn't last too long, the paint getting damaged every time you remove/replace a wheel. Especially a local tyre fitter with pneumatic impact wrench.
