Wheel Arch Liner - Small Gap?

Hi guys, does anyone have a small gap maybe 1mm between the bottom 2 bolts that hold the Wheel arch liner in place, I washed the car yesterday and noticed this on the drivers side (its the back of the liner near the sill)...Its not major but I am worried about possible future rot of the wing/sill if it will let water in,

I have been to the dealer and they had a Septemeber 09 car with the same issues but on both sides!

Will post a photo when I get home tonight

Cheers

Hi Chris,

I don't think this is an issue. The liner is there only to protect the main body work from stones etc that the wheels throw up and may penetrate the protective coating on any metal surfaces. Any water getting into these area's shouldn't be a problem.

Hi mate I was worried about small amounts of water collecting behind and liner and eventually corroding, will see what dealer says tomorrow!

Cheers

My iS had no nuts holding on the liners at all and the dealer had to come to my house with fasteners the day after I took delivery.

I still think the gap between the liner and the inside of the engine bay is a problem. Do you have a gap on the inside of the engine bay as well?

The dealer sorted it, took the bottom edge clips off heated it :!: and then refitted seems ok now!

Andy I will have a look tonight its a bit windy up here outside to go digging around now!
