Hi all..

I'm just getting ready to finally ditch run flats, now budget allows..
Did I read somewhere, that if you have spacers fitted, that wheel alignment wasn't needed or worth it?
Don't wanna pay extra for something, if I don't need too :D

All cars will need alligment after a while, potholes and bad roads see to that :(

In theory the handling and the life of your new rubber should benefit. Ps I'm booked in this week at Witham Tyres for alignment (Hunter) - they charge just £50+vat for full set up. I'll post up the outcome

I had mine aligned last week while i was visiting a mate in Cornwall, Xpress carried out the work. I was quoted £80+vat :o got it for £80 all in. They took their time and did a great job. I didn't realise there was adjustment all around on the zed. It needed doing as i fitted eibach's last year as was worried about the tracking more than anything else, that ended up being pretty much spot on. The rest wasn't all that far out too, I'm not sure if i can notice the difference :driving: but at least my tyres should wear as even as possible now :D

Well, if they are, I know where I'm going, if they can supply the tyres I want! :D

Smurfalot, get yourself into a Witham tyres! Excellent place, ask for Lee the boss and tell him you are a member here - really knows his stuff. They have a number of customers with track and drift cars. Only a small outfit but set the car up with the correct settings, took about an hour to make all the adjustments, here's the after sheet >

All for £50+vat! That's great value for Hunter. I was told by another alignment centre that I needed adjustable rear camber arms - total nonsense! Recommended

Ps They were fitting these to a Porsche GT3 RS, £400 each for the rears Pilot sport cups 325/30's they were enormous!

£50+vat sounds too good to be true! I really hope it is....please let us know how you get on.

Well.. Had non run flats fitted.. Ride certainly more comfortable, but getting a little movement on the steering wheel at higher speeds.. Told to bed them in prior to alignment. Would the alignment being out cause this??
Booking in next week for that..

Could be I guess but sounds more like a balancing issue. I'm sure they will sort it for you

Many thanks for this post guys !

I have visited few garages in Surrey and West London to get my wheels aligned without any success, in fact a couple of them said that bushes and cambers needs to be changed despite the car having only 50k on the clock with BMW FSH. As per my previous posts the handling was terrible and the car was dangerous to drive, one garage even told me that the car's structure wasn't straight !!!! I really regretted buying this car, BMW Cobham quoted me £290+vat to check the suspension and the alignment...

Anyway .... I came across this post and thought I'd give it a go despite being a 100 miles away.

I went to Witham Tyres this morning and met LEE (nice chap) and you can tell he is a pro and a car enthusiast. You can tell that the geezer knew what he was doing. He spent about an hour on the car and what a job !!!!! The car has completely changed and it a pleasure to drive it now even with the rft still on !!

I just can't praise them guys enough, they have done a fantastic job and guess for how much ??!! £50+vat ...yessss £60 all in ....

So if anyone is struggling with his alignment it is definitely worth the trip to Witham :)
