Wheel advice, please. 10J rears?

Hi there

I've found a set of wheels that I'm thinking of buying but they are a bit aggressive on the rear, the fronts will fit fine. I have a standard 2003 Z4 2.2SE and the new rears are 19x10J ET 28 - they will end up 4mm further away from the strut but poke about 42mm further out than standard 8.5J ET50 wheels.

I'm not looking to lower my car but I was hoping someone runs bigger wheels and lower offsets and could give me some real world advice on these fitting or not.

Thanks,
Rich

Hi Rich. Ive ran 100s of sets on z4s over the years but they would be pushing it, especially not lowered it will look a bit Carlos fandango. I've got 9.5j et27 rears at the moment which are on stretched tyres and mines lowered on coilovers and it's very close to the arch. (e46 m3 wheels)
So think the 10s would be a no go

Thanks Jamie, good knowledge there. I currently have 19x9.5J ‘s on the rear with unknown offsets and a spacer of unknown size. I need to take a wheel off to check sizes but I’m already seriously flush at the rear. But no rubbing ever!!

They are very accomodating to be fair. I remember with my F32 4 series you had to go something daft like 9.5j et45 max to prevent rubbing!

Widest I've ever had was a style 32 off a 7 series which was 9j et22 but with a 20mm spacer so et2 and a 215/40 tyre which was close but I'd rolled the arches

So I've bought some slightly smaller wheels and will post some pictures once they've arrived and been fitted. Thanks for your input on this :)

Thanks Jamie, I've googled the hell out of image search and can't find another Z4 with the wheels I've chosen. I'm sure there must be some!! But yeah, I'll post some pictures soon :)
