Some interesting options that I didn’t even know existed I.e. the goldfish!

Nice work

Quick update, so far chart looking like this. Cars with a single vote I’ve not included - but am tracking so other cars may still turn up.

Interesting to see none of the new BMW’s make it to the list.

FYI - Position 1, gets 5 points decreasing by 1 for each position down to 1.
My vote hasn’t been included, and one other person as it wasn’t listed in order.

507 - 25 (5 of which was Roadster specific) (6 votes)
Z8 - 24 (7 votes)
M1 - 22 (6 votes)
2002 ti - 19 (5 votes)
E9 CSL - 15 (4 votes)
M3 E46 CSL - 14 (6 votes)
M635i - 11 (3 votes)
M3 GTR - 9 (2 votes)
Z4 M coupe - 8 (3 votes)
Z3 M coupe - 5 (2 votes)
M5 E60 V10 - 4 (2 votes)
M5 E39 - 3 (2 votes)

I have already listed my top 5, but the one car (money no object) I would love to own is this very unique 328.

Why does that one have green grilles?

The one at the BMW Munich Museum has silver ones.

Besides if we’re talking 30/40s cars then I’d much prefer this one!

There are so many nice BMWs that if money was no object I would love to own, mainly competition cars I must admit. Try as I might I can't get it down to just 5, so here's my top 8

Batmobile car and M1 are both crackers too,as said, far too many

I have put down m4 cs,from the current range, and I would also include the 6series M6 gran coupe etc etc.

The Goldfish is in BMW Welt (or was some years ago) - along with an M5 Cabrio (not nice), and plenty of other concepts.

1 - 507 coupe
2 - 507 convert
3 - Z4MC (what I have now).

That's it. I prefer sports cars which weeds out all the sedans and I am not that enamoured with the looks of the Z8.

'507 Coupe' ? :? BMW only ever built 252 between 1956 and 1959, and they were all roadsters. However, some were ordered with the option of a removable hardtop like this one belonging to the late great John Surtees

Thought they did a prototype coupe.

Ahh - that explains my misconception - they didn't make an actual coupe but some called them coupes when they had the hardtops.

OK, reduce my list by one, so now there are only two BMWs I'd own, irrespective if value (and I already own one, a good ratio).

I recall the styling on the Zagato bodied Z4 being controversial but I rather liked it and hoped they'd put in into production. Instead we got a Toyota that looks like it was designed by a manga artist and a BMW version that doesn't come in a coupe form. Neither of those turn my crank, and although I do like turbo, I love the S54 engine and anything else just seems a step down, in sound and feel, if not performance.

If I saw another of these (3.5 naturally aspirated 460 bhp race cars) for sale I'd have put it on my list for sure. A V10 engine swapped one would also interest.....
