1) Digital marketing manager - Automotive franchise dealerships
2) I produce all of the digital marketing strategies for around 7 franchise dealerships in the South of the UK
3) I get to doodle on photoshop, i'm pretty autonomous and I get my own office with a view
4) Hours can be quite long, If the internet explodes I can't do my job, my eyes hurt from all the pc's I look at (I have like 4 monitors)

2) New Busines, mid term changes, claims management for 500+ clients
who are insured for tree surgery, landscaping, forestry &
consultancy. It can be for a one man band to a large European
forestry contractor.
3) small office environment, fairly relaxed and easy going
can manage my own workload, prioritise however I want
Get to deal with the same clients and build long lasting working
relationships.
4) Poor communication from head office and them not really
understanding what we do.
Limited progression in terms of general commercial insurance as I
work in a very specialist niche area
Fairly dingy office in a small village near Woking. Not exactly
inspiring
5) Having just started an online photography course there's scope to go further with this in time, once I've studied and learnt a lot more.

2 If you need a knee or hip replaced or have a sports injury to your knee, I'm your man.
If you're unfortunate enough to be Humpty Dumpty, I'll put you back together again (although I draw the line at giblets)
3 I get to play with power tools and very expensive, very shiny toys
There's little in life as exciting as spending half the night working hard to save the multiply injured patient and few things as rewarding as watching them walk out of your outpatient clinic weeks or months later
Anatomy is beautiful and I get to appreciate it everyday
They actually pay me to do this!

Four degrees and two sets of expensive postgraduate qualifications that consumed years of my life and made med school exams seem like a holiday! Not to mention the dozens of publications and hours wasted box-ticking in order to complete my training...

Sometimes you don't win

1-Well I don't like to blow my own trumpet but that's because I'm a professional bass trombonist 
2-I play with orchestras, do West End Shows, some recordings for TV and what ever comes along.
3-a.Going on tour. I turn up at the airport with my trombone and passport, somebody gives me a ticket and we get treated pretty well. b.Doing something that is your passion. c.Working with your mates who you went to college with.
4-a. A 20 year pay stagnation for orchestral musicians. b.Doing something that was my passion. c.Conductors, they are a bunch of over paid ****s.
5-If the trombone goes tits up I want to be a butcher.

1) Lawyer: Now work for the Ministry of Justice about 60 days a year
2) Decide on who stays and who goes in immigration/asylum/deportation appeals
3a) Can (and do) take a month or so off whenever I want
3b) Reasonably well paid
3c) Learn a lot about life and events around the world and can make a difference to people's lives (that may be two things)
4a) It is 60 days every year
4b) The decision writing is lengthy and complex partly as the Home Office keep on changing the rules in sometimes quite surreal and often self defeating ways
4c) Quite a lot of what I do ends up being a waste of time either through authority's inaction or other events
5) I did a MA at Sussex University in "Corruption and Governance" (yes, there is such a course and it was excellent) and did start a business offering services to small medium sized business in compliance and anti-bribery systems - but have been distracted by family events over the past year. No point in doing something half heartedly.

1) Retired - was 40+ years in power station construction, mainly steam turbine/generator installations and maintenance, mostly overseas but some in UK a long time ago.
2) Now - head gardener, chief maintenance engineer and occasional painter/decorator and blocked drains expert.
3) Very much my own boss until the wife says differently
Travel whenever I want.
Loads of time to look after the Z.
4) Very limited and fixed renumeration.
Getting used to shopping trips.
Took me a good three/four years to get used to the idea of not reporting to anyone or anyone to me and having no responsibility outside the home.

2) Project Manager for roll-out of fibre optic broadband to the home in several Caribbean countries.
3) I'm in the Caribbean. It's 30C all year round. I get to go to the beach in December.
4) I hate matrix management. I'm away from home. I'm going to freeze my n....s off at Christmas in UK.
5) I'm semi-retired and looking for something else to do closer to home.
