Took the carpet out of my 2004 z4 and found this on floor pan on pass side, it looks aftermarket because the insulation on the carpet has been cut to allow room for it, seams to be a module of some kind and a battery.

Tracker, there should be a number on the box, gives your car ID and the company ID who tracks,,,,,,,
