Suggests it enables control via in dash factory nav screen. If this is true it would be a cheaper option than the intravee + Alpine + other required cables route. Anyone know anything about this?

If you have nav then for that price you can get an intravee and alpine which will give you extra functionality.

The BMW one is very similar to the dension one I used to have but from memory the playlist functions aren't as good.

No you can't. Intravee is £150, Alpine is £100, charging adapter is £14, Ainet cable is £26 and with delivery the total reaches £300.

To make matters worse I think I have bloody DSP so would have to fork out another £70 for the Dice DSP adapter.

If you have DSP, and need the adapter, the OEM kit won't work anyway.

OEM kit also requires a charge converter.

The KCA-420i comes with an AI-Net cable, you don't need another.

You can get a KCA-420i from e-bay for £50-£60 making the price for the Intravee system almost identical to the OEM kit in the listing you linked to.

I had dsp and had this kit prior to intravee. Neither had issues and both worked well. No track info on BMW kit and needs power pin converter for later iPods and iPhones.

Is it just a plug in and go or is it an auto electrician job does anyone know?

When I enquired a while ago they had to disconnect the cd miltichanger.

£150 is all I paid for my Intravee, Alpine and leads.

eBay is your friend.

BMW will not show tracks which is what VvrooomM is saying.

Dension Ice Link Plus which is very similar will though. I sold mine for £75 last year.

Cheers Srhutch, don’t even know why I am moaning about the track lists, I put the songs on the ipod so I know all the tunes anyway! The lack of charge facility does piss me off! May have to up grade in the future.

What iPod are you using as I believe that is the issue. Might be worth investing in an old one from fleabay that will charge.

I’m using a nano latest edition, may pick up an older one from flea bay then I can just leave it in the car I suppose. Cheers for that
