What's the worst bit of your zed?

Who decided to put the hazard lights button just by the handbreak so when you release the handbreak it's easy to accidentally put the hazards on. I find it really annoying!!

With you on that! Really annoying!

I agree I do this a lot also I hate the position of the electric window switches near the door handle and sometimes when I give them the long press they go up and straight back down again or down and then up :headbang: but mostly I hate the hundreds of stone chips on my bonnet, don't know whether to respray or leave it original.

I've learned to except my stone chips and the small crack on the windscreen and also my 108 wheels which look like they are made out of Stilton cheese.
On a hot day when I first open the door my car now smells like the inside of an old man's hat. But it's 8 years old with 116k on the clock so it's part of its character. But when I accidentally turn the hazards on it drives me crazy!!

cleaning the flies off the front! and the soft steering wheel gunk is. poor, but such a great car would forgive her every time!

No ones mentioned the outer door handles hard to open the door when the weathers hot !

Changing the cable made no difference for me.

Clean the door mechanism the bit on the side edge of the door that clips into the hook on the body of the car,I had a sticking passenger door and a good scrub with a toothbrush and re grease did it for me ,got to be worth a try mine got to the point that it would not open without fear of ripping the handle off the clean solved the issue, sometimes the simplest solutions are the best

rattles..fkin rattles...cured most of them but the driver side air vent is being a right cnut, wind noise on the drivers side window gets a bit annoying above 75 tried to fix that and no dice there too...oil leaks..2 in 18 months of ownership (oil filter housing and rocker cover) do the germans not know how to make a gasket that can last ..the japanese have been making oil tight engines since the 80s and the gemans are apparently using technology from 1950s british motorcycle builders  other than that its not a bad piece of kit

seatbelt beep that goes off when you put a 4 pack of lager on the passenger seat

get the car coded and remove the seatbelt reminder from the passenger seat, its in SSS software

Have to concur with lots of points mentioned in this post.

Can anyone suggest a decent set of seatbelt clips to sort out the neck digging problem? Also the door panels will need addressing soon, just need my local indy to have a quiet period so I can book it in.

Electric power steering is annoying. Coming from an old M to the coupes steering is annoying, I kept over compensating in the first few weeks of ownership.

Reading this thread, who would believe this is a Z4 'enthusiasts' forum?
But seriously, I do still love my Zed, but if I had to nit pick:
The rattles with the roof up (and it's just not warm enough to drive roof down all year, no matter how much I'd love to).
The seatbelt digging in to my neck when wearing a t-shirt (I guess the pad is a good idea, just have to find one that doesn't look to naff)
Otherwise, not much to criticise really, and mechanically it's been very good (only the roof motor, and the ABS pump in 4 years).

Me!!

Always taking the thing aprart to make it faster. And never finishing things on time and not having a drop top in the summer!!!

The seat belt issue is also getting to me. along with the very picky passenger seatbelt sensor ting. the Lack of LSD is also up there, but after i managed to do some huge circles drifts on a parking lot with a few friends I now love the car even more. and with that being possible with out the LSD that will be pushed a little furter down on the list of ugrades.

The LSD mostly shines in situations where traction is most difficult. Tight corners etc. Especially things like hairpins on mountain roads
The increase in possible cornerspeed is immense, your exit speed gets a huge boost.

I've been looking into this alot. easy enough to do ?

The notchy gear change
The exhaust drone
Some rattles

The steering on my face lift feels much heavier and positive than my old pre face lift, will it still be electric or did the face lift get hydraulic same as the M ? As it feels more like the M I test drove.... it doesn't change with the sport button the old one did.

The doors sound much better when closing on the face lift as well, gone is the hollow tinny clank of my old one.
