What's the optimal wheel offset?

Hi

I'm just wondering if anyone actually knows what the best offset would be for wheels measuring 19x8.5 on the front and 19x9.5 on the back?

Would an ET 40 (front) and ET 40 (rear) fit perfectly so there's no rubbing under the arches, even if I lowered the car an inch or so?

Using the standard wheel calculations it suggests it doesn't deviate too much from the original spec:

OEM Front ((8.0 x 25.4) / 2) + 47 = 148.6mm
OEM Rear ((8.5 x 25.4) / 2) + 50 = 157.95mm

Front ((8.5 x 25.4) / 2) + 40 = 147.95mm
Rear ((9.5 x 25.4) / 2) + 40 = 160.65mm

So it looks to me like they should sit nice and flush with this setup, anyone disagree?

Thanks for reading!
Alan

I'm still on the case, the distributor couldn't get the rears as I wanted. I have found a different distributor now, one that actually resides in the UK so there is hope...:)
