What's the opinion of 202s?

Picking up another project on Friday (yes I know.......... but it's not black, that's something)
Not sure if it's a rescue or a donor yet.
However, it appears to have 202 alloys on it.
Just wondered what the general consensus of opinion was on these?
Been told they're rarer than 107s, but that could either be because everyone wants them, or no-one specced them.
Going to see whether they grow on me or not, but as it stands at the moment I may be open to a swap if anyone really likes them.

Very similar to the 107,s which are the best looking wheel imo. Don’t think you will have any probs selling / swapping them

Yep, the best looking for an e85 pre facelift. Not so much for a coupe though

107s are popular so I don't see why 202s wouldn't be.

But as pvr said I don't think they really suit E86s.

Never actually seen any before apart from pics. I’ll give them time to win me over.
Thanks for the inputs

Had these on my old 3.0i automatic when I sold it.

I love the 107's but the more I looked at the 202's the less I liked them - the difference is very subtle but when you know you know.

for those struggling to tell them apart, here they are side by side - 107s first, then 202s

i also prefer 107s... the 202s look a bit weird to me, the extra bulge round the wheel nuts, the extra slants and things, the holes being oval rather than round... just a bit weird. the 202s look like a cheap replica of 107s to me!

I like both of them, both have interesting details and suit blue or grey zeds well, 107s looking more flat and simple, 202s having a stronges 3D feel.

When I first saw the ellipsoid style wheels, I thought they looked a bit strange on a BMW. But I grow to really like them!
The 107's looks great on pre-facelift and the 202's on facelift models. The other way around looks a bit wrong, for some reason.

I think DMike's description of the difference is really good. 202's has a more three dimensional design. I think the depth that it gives the wheels makes it interesting in soft light (with shadows) and that it works great with the "flame surfacing" design of the car.

I'm of course biassed, but I think 202's looks great on the Coupé.

A lot more photos are found in my Gallery thread.

The design was even used in the sales brochure.
(Okay, you couldn't actually see the design of the wheel, since all photos used in the brochure had the wheels spinning) :?
But some additional sales photo shows the car with 202's.

This is from one of the the promotional short films BMW made in the early days of the Z4, with 107s. Really dig the bold design.

Never realised the holes were oval rather than round - can't unsee it now you've pointed it out
