Looking to change my headlamp bulbs for something a bit brighter, not interested as yet in buying HID kits.Has anyone had much success with uprated H7 bulbs?

bought philips 80% brighter, but to be honest in the end the only solution is to raise the headlamp level, mine were mid limit as adjusted recently by dealer, and gave them two complete turns to raise, and now I can see and nobody has flashed yet.

I will turn them back for MOT's though to be on the safe side.

I had the sylvania silverstars for a while, and they were very bright indeed. I would say if you are looking for brightest, then go with these. However, they are still somewhat yellowish colored like stock, which wasn't the look I was going for. I then tried a set of Nokya Cosmic White bulbs (80w), which I am very happy with. They are slightly brighter than stock, and definitely one of the brightest HID-looking halogen bulbs I've seen. Color is perfectly white too. The fact that they are 80W may account for the brightness. I was also initially concerned about them being too hot, but so far no problems.

Which way do you turn the adjustors to raise? :D

The adjusters are on top of the headlight, a plastic screw type mechanism. I can't remember which direction is which but point the car at a wall and you will soon see any changes!

Best thing to do is park the car in front of a garage door or wall. Note where the beam is and then turn (anticlockwise I think for up) complete 360 degrees.

I recommend complete 360 turn just so you can put them back for MOT's etc.

To be honest I think two turns on mine is two high one would be enough as I light the hedgerows as well now, but until people start flashing then I assume it's not causing any real problems.
